The Connected Community Curriculum & Toolkit is a “train the trainer” toolkit created as a collaboration between Impact Services, New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC). The goal of the curriculum is to provide a comprehensive and easy to use guide for those teaching others about trauma in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Pixel Parlor developed a suite of materials into a flexible system that serves a variety of functions throughout the curriculum. The training materials are housed in a custom 3-ring binder with a tab system for each module of the training. A series of icons were developed for the toolkit to help trainers easily access information on handouts and activity pages.
A Toolkit booklet and Safety Plan card were also created to hand out at training events. The booklet was developed for use with the general public as a space for workbook style user engagement and note taking during trauma curriculum sessions.
